The Secret of Blackwood House
π Synopsis β The Secret of Blackwood House
by G. V
Blackwood House has stood silent for decades β its windows dark, its gates chained, and its past spoken of only in careful, uneasy whispers.
When historian Amelia Hartwell is asked to catalogue the remaining possessions of the long-abandoned estate, she expects a routine assignment: dusty rooms, forgotten heirlooms, and nothing more. But the moment she steps through the iron gates, she senses it β the house is waiting.
Inside, Amelia discovers rooms perfectly preserved, as if their owners vanished mid-conversation. Portraits stare down from the walls with eyes that seem too human, and old letters hint at a tragedy never fully explained. Among the papers she finds repeated symbols β a black feather, a single lantern, and the name Elowen Blackwood, circled again and again.
Locals warn Amelia not to stay after sundown. They speak of strange lights moving through the overgrown gardens, of music drifting from locked rooms, and of voices calling from the attic β voices that answer when spoken to.
As Amelia digs deeper, she realises the truth was deliberately buried β and someone is determined to keep it hidden.
But curiosity is a dangerous companion, and the secrets of Blackwood House reach further than she ever imagined.
Because in Blackwood House, nothing is truly abandonedβ¦
and some doors should never be opened.
